Pines spoke to artificial lowering of expenses and future impact of the temporary reduction such as on regional roads, 2% reduction in department budgets, and that spending needs to be targeted and measurable. Councillor Fonseca spoke to the City’s Lean Program and departments finding 2% efficiencies in operating budgets. Mayor Parrish spoke to pursuing targeted reductions where feasible at the City and supported reductions at the Region and the hiring of an Auditor General.
